Richard Madgwick is a Reader in Archaeological Science, specialising in the scientific analysis of faunal and human remains using macroscopic, microscopic and molecular methods. He has worked on material from the Mesolithic to Post-Medieval period from across Europe and beyond. Previously he has been principal investigator on the FeastNet and Feeding the Roman Army in Britain Projects.
Archaeologist and numismatist with over 30 years’ experience as a finds specialist, excavator, researcher, teacher, curator and project manager. Peter specialises in the Roman period and is particularly interested in Britannia and the northwestern provinces, the Roman army and frontiers, as well as Roman coinage and the economy. The excavations at Caerleon were highly successful research, training and engagement projects, that are bringing cutting-edge research to the widest audiences.
A Doctoral Candidate at the University of Cardiff studying post-Roman Britain and Ireland. Specialising in bioarchaeological and isotopic methods of investigating people of the past. On board with the project working as a research and administration assistant to the FRAME project.
